From their email subject line which is simply the title to the track that I’m about to share with you below, to their content of the body of the email, and even the name – they nailed it! Absolutely nailed it all across the board, which is hard to do among the backdrop of 500 plus emails daily.
That being said, before I get into what they have to say about the track, which is incredible may I add, I want to tell you my take on this song. It is haunting. There is something about listening to something with no preconceived notions, knowing that as artists they can appreciate that someone else may take away exactly what they were trying to get across or something different, that just speaks volumes.
This track is off the charts amazing. It touches on just about every emotion that one can have but one thing that it does not fail to do and that is tug on the strings of your heart and insert feeling into your being, the core of who you are. In a word, this track is phenomenal. They’ve set the bar high, I can’t wait to hear more from them. Without further ado, I give to you their own words:
“5 6 7 8 was written in a 2 hour session with no preconceived ideas about where the session would go.
We had a lot of fun with creating this. I started dancing around the kitchen pretending to be a ballet dancer, singing 5 6 7 8 at the top of my lungs, which eventually became the backbone of the song.
The remaining lyrical content can be difficult to hear, but on closer listen you can hear that there is an honest search for something tangible and real. Whether it’s a search for love, happiness or just an escape from the everyday we found it for a brief moment.
We’re quickly leading up to the release of our debut EP this summer on Culvert Music.”
